Xbox announces good and bad news

Talk about mixed blessings. It was just announced that Microsoft will be extending the warranty on all Xbox 360 units to 3 years from the date of purchase. Normally that would be a great thing, especially since it is cost the mega-corp about $1 billion dollars. But there is a dark side to this universal offer.
As many know already, there is the ‘ring of death’ that hits so many Xbox’s that the warranty extension is simply a shortcut to an all out recall. The mystery behind the ring of death, 3 flashing red lights on the Xbox, is still unknown. That is unknown to the public as Microsoft refuses to say what causes it. What is known is that the number of problem cases is huge and growing.
Remember when a game system would come out and it worked from day one? So much for that.
So the good news is that if you bought a Xbox you are covered. The bad news is that your system will probably fail, invariably when you are just about to finish/win at some game you’ve been struggling with. At least now you know.
