Not videoholics, just sick people

Some people are just stupid. Life is that simple most days. This is never more apparent than when some people take actions that endanger the lives of their children. As a friend of mine mentioned,
“Just because people can have kids, some just shouldn’t.”
Now you are probably wondering at this point what that has to do with video games. Just this, when parents of infants nearly kill their kids, via action or inaction, because they feel the need to play a game that has nothing to do with the interactive gaming industry. It’s just because those people are sick and deficient individuals. Here is a recent example.
DDO (Dungeons & Dragons Online) is not at fault. This is not some addiction preventing these deranged ‘parents’ from fulfilling their obligation. They are not videoholics. They had food in the home, they ate, and they chose to ignore their kids. That’s a vicious crime, and I hope they are punished severely and that the local prison gets a nice heads up when they arrive.
Anyone who gets $50,000 from an inheritance, and rushes out to get a plasma tv and computer equipment even though one is unemployed and the other works part-time, they have skewed priorities. Any parent that would feed themselves and not their children has their basic DNA screwed up. It’s not a videoholic issue, that’s a human being issue. I just wish that the media would get that through their heads and stop making excuses for people of this nature.
