Manhunt made me do it

Is there any other news out there besides that of people trying to connect video games to violent crimes committed by people with apparently serious mental issues. From parents that prefer to feed themselves rather than their infants to a killer from across the pond. Yes even in Britian videogames are considered the root of all evil among children and young adults.
Now in the most recent case, that was plastered across a headline of the News of the World tabloid, the game in question was the notorious Manhunt by Rockstar Games. The makers of GTA really outdid themselves in that game, and the latest version of the game has caused such an uproar it’s already getting banned. It is ultra-violent, but the fact that the mother of the British killer never questioned why her son would sit up all night long, in the dark playing this Playstation game. That sounds like bad parenting.
What a statement. It would seem that looking at the box the game came in, or checking out what it was her son was playing was too much for Mrs. Harling.
Instead of wasting time and energy chasing an issue that really isn’t one, when will the media focus on the bad parenting that is going on. People who make choices that are stupid, or allow their kids to run rampant without checking them are the cause of these atrocious actions, not the games they play. Maybe if these parents took a moment to be involved with their kids they would notice the baby needed to get food, or that their son was homicidal.
But that won’t make headlines I suppose.
