When I first saw this game many years ago, it may have been the Japanese version, which is called Jungle King, and stars more of a Tarzan-type player. This was changed for most other versions, which star, as shown here, a jungle-adventuring type star with an explorer’s hat. Taito probably wanted to avoid any possible problems with the estate of Edgar Rice Burroughs. It’s a fun game where you need to cross four areas to rescue a girl from a savage jungle tribe, and it sure doesn’t start as you might think. That first part where you need to jump from vine to vine is certainly challenging!
I like how it ends with “I love you”. Ah, isn’t love wonderful?
