Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe, Space Duel and Blasteroids

Here’s a little lineup of recordings I found of Atari’s series of games that involve dealing with rocks in space. For starters, we have 1979’s Asteroids:
One of the most popular games of its time, where you have a ship that requires a couple of buttons to guide in various directions and to shoot. Hyperspace porting is one of the abilities you have here, though it’s best used when you’re really in danger.
Then, we’ve got Asteroids Deluxe:
This was an attempt to make a more challenging version. Unfortunately, it failed to impress upon the audience and was a flop when it came out in 1981.
Then, we’ve got Space Duel from 1982:
This did better in sales than the second game, and is certainly entertaining.
Then, finally, we have Blasteroids from 1987:
It may be for two players, and was certainly a good ending to the series.
