Dynasty Wars and Warriors of Fate

These two games drew their inspiration from actual history in China. First, here’s Dynasty Wars:
I’m guessing that this was made prior to Final Fight, because it doesn’t use the kind of approach that defined a lot of their beat-em-up games beginning with that now classic game. Though as you can see here, the players are riding horses, if anything, which is certainly different from most of the beat-em-up games to follow. The controls available here allow you to attack in both front and back directions.
Then, here’s Warriors of Fate:
This one is certainly a Final Fight clone, but the horse-riding gimmick is still included, and if you lack a horse to ride on, you can call one in with the gong-shaped icon, and while on horseback, you can pick up many items automatically. Five players to choose from in this game. It’s a pretty bloody game though at that.
