As mentioned earlier, SNK’s first official soccer game was called Fighting Soccer, produced in 1988, but it was Super Sidekicks that was really popular. Let’s begin with a recording of the first game here:
A good game this was, though it didn’t have a score table in the first installment. Then, here’s the second game:
This one had a wider selection of countries, and also a choice of power up. It was also notable for using mostly digitized graphics for the players. Then, here’s the third game in the series:
Still more of a country roster, and more upgrades available for players too. Then, here’s Ultimate 11, the fourth installment:
Another brilliant game indeed. Then, here’s Neo Geo Cup ‘98, the fifth installment:
I think this game was a special hack made from the program of the fourth game, done by SNK themselves, but I’m not sure. Whatever, this too is a masterpiece for computerized soccer, and well worth playing.
