While Konami obtained the rights to making a side-scrolling game based on Aliens that was reminiscient in some ways of Contra, it was Sega who obtained the rights to making a lightgun shooter based on the third movie, seen in the recording here:
And so, what we have here is an excellently designed machine gun game where this time, the Alien-based action is on a first-person perspective level, and all those beasties we saw in those movies can now literally be shot at, but can also damage you if you don’t be careful. Just make sure to release the trigger whenever needed in order to restore firepower pressure when it decreases! I wonder though if the bombs featured here should’ve been carpet ones that affect the entire immediate vicinity? That’s one thing where I’m not sure if they really had a good idea. Other than that, it’s a pretty good game that later on features at least one point where you need to choose directions when inside the prison and which floors to reach.
