In 1995, Taito updated Space Invaders again, and how! They made a fantastic parody a la Konami’s Parodius, and this is the side-splittingly hilarious result!
What a great display of intergalactic circus performing! The game, as you’ll notice, first begins by opening with a black-and-white presentation in a special nod to the original game, but then quickly changes to the brand new version with goofy alien invaders, and even new special weapons and bonuses. Of the former, you can obtain via some of the flying saucers a wrecking ball that can smash several aliens in a row. And, you’ve even got a special charging gauge for your cannon. There’s even some bosses to deal with that are just as entertaining.
Of all the different versions of Space Invaders, this is one of the best. It’s games like this that have helped me to really appreciate the Space Invaders franchise.
