Atari’s Sprint series

Between 1976 and 1989, Atari produced a couple of racecar games that began with Sprint 2, then Sprint 4, and then, wouldn’t you know it, they actually got around to Sprint One! Those particular games, unfortunately, don’t seem to have any recordings available of on Youtube, but if I ever find some, I’ll put them here. What I can say is that they were some of the best of the early racers, and quite popular in their time, coming in pretty big cabinets. And what I certainly can put here for now is some tapings of the later games in this series, those being Super Sprint, Championship Sprint, and Bad Lands.
This is Super Sprint, and what makes it unique in its round-n-round racetrack is that you need to accomplish several laps and certain rankings, all the while twisting and turning very tricky turns. You can also try to obtain special wrench icons that can help fix any damage you might’ve taken, as well as point icons.
Then, here’s Chamionship Sprint. This version’s only for two players, but has different - and more challenging - tracks. It’s pretty good too.
And then, here’s Bad Lands, which is set in a more futuristic, surrealistic setting, with semi-isometric graphics to accompany it.
The Sprint series is pretty fun, and great for playing if you can find it.
