In three recordings:

So what we’ve got here is a beat-em-up game done in cartoony format, where 2 guys set off to rescue a pretty girl from a sinister world-conquesting gang, and to find some treasure as well. It’s fun. At the end, you have a choice of paths where to find treasure, […]

Here’s a short video of this classic game:

An engaging adventure where you need to travel through a whole bunch of chambers fighting against all sorts of dungeon dwelling monsters in order to reach a treasure trove at the end. What makes this challenging is how you need to reach certain areas with […]

This is what happened when a kid got caught admiring a poster while playing Call of Duty 4 online. I know this is not new, it’s from last year when CoD4 was in beta, but I found it quite amusing.

AP review of Fable II

Submitted by Gaming Briefs
The AP Wire reviews a new game called Fable II, sequel to an earlier item:
Peter Molyneux is one of the video-game industry’s most enthusiastic promoters, always pushing the boundaries of what games can accomplish. He’s generally credited with inventing the “god game” with 1989’s “Populous” (to which this year’s “Spore” owes an […]

SomethingAwful published a chart depicting the famous Nintendo stamp of approval requirements over the years. While the chart below is obviously not the actual requirements it’s amusing how accurately it depicts its evolution.
When the Official Nintendo Seal of Quality was used, the meaning of the seal was explained as follows:

“This official seal […]

It used to be that if you possessed the minimum technical requirements for a PC game, you could play the game without crashing, though not always at the highest resolution or graphical settings. A special update of the classic game from 1980, made 15 years afterwards for the Jaguar console, this also features some good music. That plane that sometimes flies across the screen might be something new, but I’m not sure.

Video about Space Cavern

This is a documentary-style review of the game for the Atari 2600.

You’re in charge of a cannon, going through caves in the galaxy and blasting plenty of challenging enemies, including space ghosts. It’s pretty cool.

This is a variation on Asteroids and possibly Sinistar, where you’re in charge of a spaceship that needs to blast all these moon-shaped spheres coming your way and even getting larger while they’re at it. Not bad overall.

Note: this is the Atari Lynx version:

This was an underrated shoot-em-up that may have predated Doom by 6 years, since, to some extent, the arcade version was fairly 3-D in its design, and while it may be described as isometric, it’s still a lot closer to what would really come to be […]
