Die Hard Arcade taping

The beat-em-up genre was starting to wear thin in the late 90s, but Sega had a most interesting offering up their sleeve in the mold of 3-D: a game based loosely on the famous Bruce Willis action movie from 1988. Here it is in 5 recordings:
Player one looks a lot like Bruce Willis, while player two is a female police officer. The game’s plot is a lot different from the movie it takes its cue from, as you go through a game inspired by Final Fight, just that this time, it’s done in 3-D. If you can approach some of the rank-and-file enemies correctly from behind while holding a pistol (or even a machine gun), it’s possible to handcuff and do away with them more quickly by tapping the attack button twice, if I can recall the exact directions properly. Interestingly, the girl in the player two role can move a bit faster than player one, providing her with some better advantages. And there are a couple of special in-between sections where the object is to hit the right button or move the joystick the right way in order to eliminate in-between enemies. If you fail, you’ll need to deal with them longer before moving on to the next scene.
Overall, this was pretty good for a tryout with 3-D graphics, but is still far from perfect, which could explain why they didn’t bother to put in score tables. Sega would later followup on this with Dynamite Cop, which I’ll try to find a recording of later on.
